Accupuncture

Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin needles through your skin at strategic points on your body. It’s a key component of traditional Chinese medicine. It is most commonly used to treat pain. Increasingly, however, it is being used for overall wellness, including stress management.

What Will Happen During My First Acupuncture Session?

During your first treatment at Cashel Chiropractic, Dr. Rob will take a complete health history and conduct a thorough evaluation of the condition for which you are seeking treatment. He will ask you questions about lifestyle as well as your condition.

Hair-thin needles will then be placed at specific acupuncture points on the body. The initial treatment may last between 1 and 1.5 hours, and all subsequent treatments are for 1 hour.

Is an Acupuncture Session Painful?

Acupuncture does not hurt. Acupuncture needles are extremely fine, almost like a stand of hair, and it is sometimes hard to even feel them being inserted.
