Frequently Asked Questions About Dry Needling
To save you time, we’ve answered some of the most frequently asked questions about chiropractic adjustments.
What Is the Popping Sound I Hear During a Chiropractic Adjustment?
You may feel and hear popping or cracking sensations during a chiropractic adjustment. These are gases, like oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide, being released from your joints. Gas gets trapped in small cavities of your joints when you move and stretch, and our chiropractor in Lehi corrects it through a chiropractic adjustment.
What Will Happen During My Chiropractic Adjustment?
At Cashel Chiropractic, you will lie face down on a chiropractic table that allows certain parts of your body (divided into segments) to lift slightly higher than the rest, which helps your chiropractor apply pressure to a specific area.
Dr. Rob will use his hands or small instruments to apply a quick, controlled force (amount of pressure) to a joint or gently stretch your joints beyond their normal range of motion. This helps align the vertebrae in your spine if they were slightly off-center, and it also releases any gases trapped within your joints.
Will My Chiropractic Adjustment Hurt?
In general, chiropractic adjustments are painless; you might feel slightly uncomfortable for a moment, depending on the amount of tension or inflammation in the area being worked on. It subsides quickly and is mild.
