Frequently Asked Questions
Here are answers to some of the frequently asked questions we get about stretch therapy.
I Am Not an Athlete, Do I Still Need to Stretch?
Stretching is critical for everyone’s function and safety, particularly in older populations. As we age, our muscles become stiffer and less elastic, limiting our balance, ambulation, and function. For older adults, especially, stretching is critical for fall prevention.
What Will Happen During My First Stretch Therapy Session?
At Cashel Chiropractic, you will complete a health intake form and do a short assessment with Dr. Rob. The doctor will then focus on movements to target the muscles and connective tissue surrounding the joints. The doctor will move your body into postures that stretch specific muscle groups. Comfortable straps may be used to make stretches more effective. The goal during the session is to relax, breath,e and let the doctor take the weight of your limbs and move you through the stretches.
Does Stretch Therapy Hurt?
You should feel a stretch sensation, but never pain.
